The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) is the UK's leading organisation representing the interests of those who practice facilities managment and those who work in organisations supplying facilities management goods or services.
Having joined as a member in 1991, Patrick Jongbloet, owner of eager-4-excellence, has always looked at opportunities to support the Institute.
In the early days this may have been through attending the Southern Regional events, but in 2004 Patrick's involvement stepped up. Following a presentation at one of the regional events, Patrick was invited by the South Region to join as a commitee member.
Having successfully organised a couple of BIFM events, and generally supported the region and the institute very enthusiastically, the committee decided to offer Patrick the Chairmanship of the region in 2005.
From December 2004 to June 2006, Patrick chaired the South Region committee with passion and enthusiasm, and together with a fantastic team managed to bring back the much needed vibrancy in the region. It is with great pleasure and confidence that he handed over the baton to Stewart Weeks on July 1st 2006.
Patrick has spoken at prestigious events and locations on FM matters such as the Euro FM Conference in Rotterdam (2003), The BIFM Conference in Oxford (2006), the Total Workplace Management (formerly known as FM Expo) Seminar programme in 2004-5-6, The FMA Young Managers Forum kickstart event at Tower 42 (2005), and twice a year at the FM Forum Events as part of the FM Guru moderator team since 2002.
