Primark is keeping us busy in the FM field

Once the FM Hard services outsource project for Primark Stores across its 135+ property portfolio in the UK had reached post tender negotiation & phased mobilisation stage in 2008, it was great to hear that we had been retained in an FM advisory role for further small projects with this fast expanding retailer recently described as "The retail story of the Century".

In 2009, the portfolio of 14 stores in Spain was market tested resulting in a much more focused service delivery specification and performance management package but equally in a welcome efficiency saving.

Another project which is nearing completion is the design of a global document (T&C's / Service specification / SLA Register) which will work across Europe and includes a seal of approval by the Primark (and ABF's, their parent company) legal teams. It will now be used as the base for tendering, contract negotiations, monthly reporting, FM performance management, etc.

And yes, a recent trip was undertaken to my home country Belgium where the first Primark store opened in Liege (or Luik for Dutch speakers) in Dec 2009. The relentless pace of expansion has also seen stores opened in Germany (Frankfurt), Portugal (Lisbon & Porto), and many more are planned if the press is to be believed. "Work Hard, Play Hard" is the motto with never a dull moment to be had.
